Freedom Optimist Soccer Free High School Tryout Training

Freedom Optimist Soccer Free High School Tryout Training
Is your player trying out for a local High School soccer program this Fall? Freedom Optimist Soccer is setting up summer clinics to help prepare our rising High School players for High School soccer tryouts!

There are two planned sessions, Thursday, 26 June 2025 from 6:30pm – 8pm, and Thursday, 24 July 2025 from 6:30pm – 8pm, where coaches will go over the tryout process, and help players prepare for the tryouts. There is no fee for these sessions.

This year’s sessions will be run again by Jay McClenahan who has extensive coaching experience at the club and college levels. He’ll help players understand:

  • The more you climb the ranks – the more trials, tryouts, and assessments you’re likely to participate in.
  • Coach Jay will share thoughts and strategies on how to prepare for High School soccer tryouts as well as simulations for drills and the pace players can expect. The preparation can help players avoid being too casual, tense, or nervous as tryouts approach and the days of.
  • Sessions will run 90 minutes so parents please plan to stay for a Q&A at the end to learn more.

Players must have cleats, shin guards, and plenty of water. Pennies will be provided for scrimmaging. Feel free to attend both or just one.
