Spring 2021 Soccer Registration Open
Registration is open at https://farc.siplay.com (look for “Freedom Optimist Spring Rec Soccer 2021”) for boys and girls from age 3 through 8th Grade (older age groups play on short sided fields). Play with your friends! Team sizes and age grouping will depend on the number of participants. Requests will be honored but will be handled on a first come first serve basis. Come out and join the fun!!

MAKE SURE YOU REGISTER YOUR CHILD FOR THEIR CURRENT GRADE IN THE CURRENT 2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR.

NOTE: The current COVID protocols from the Fall 2020 season will continue to be followed.

Schedule
The season will run on Sundays beginning March 21st and going through May 9th at Eldersburg Elementary. 1 week of practice and 7 weeks of play!

Fees and Registration
$65/player, $75/player during Late Registration February 1st – 15th (late registration, based on availability, extended through February 18th!), with $5.00 sibling discounts when registering multiple players at the same time. Registration is not considered complete and your child will not be placed on a team until payment is received. Team sizes and number of teams will depend on the number of registrations.

Coaching or Volunteering?
If you are volunteering in our program you must register as a volunteer. And make sure to read the section “Volunteer Information – Background Check Requirements”.

Refund Policy
Refund requests for 100% less a $15 fee need to be e-mailed to the League Commissioner mailto:ryan@freedomoptsoccer.com before March 15th. No refunds after March 15th unless the request is due to injury that would prevent the player from participating.

Spring 2021 Adult (over 16) Coed Soccer Registration Open
Registration is open through February 26th at https://farc.siplay.com for Individuals or Teams of players over 16 years of age – everyone is welcome! Come on out and join the fun!!.  

Schedule
The season will run on Sundays beginning March 21st and going through May 16th at Freedom Park Field 3.

Fees and Registration
$50/player. Registration is not considered complete until payment is received and must be received prior to the start of the season. Any returned checks will be assessed a $25.00 Returned Check fee.

Registration
Visit https://farc.siplay.com to register and choose your team. If your team is not listed, then register under Team Not Listed and put your Team Name in the Comments area. If you are new to the league don’t worry, we will assign you to a team! Team sizes and number of teams will depend on the number of registrations.

Volunteer Information – Background Check Requirements
If you are volunteering in our program as a Coach, Assistant Coach or Team Parent you must register as a volunteer.  Make sure you register yourself at https://farc.siplay.com and select the Volunteer option.  There is no cost to register.

To start your background check, go to Carroll County’s custom application online submitting portal at https://carrollcountyrecreationandparks.quickapp.pro/positions and click the Apply button for Freedom Area.

Weather Hotline
Call the Freedom Area Rec Council hotline at (410) 549-6296 to check on field availability.  On weekdays the message is updated by 3pm.
Carroll County Recreation and Parks Heat, Thunder & Lightning Policy
Thunder and Lightning: At the first sound of Thunder or the first sighting of Lightning – All outdoor recreation council activities are to be stopped and the participants must clear the fields to a protected area and wait 30 minutes before activities can resume. Any additional occurrence restarts the 30 minute count until activities can resume.  You can read the official policy at County Heat, Thunder and Lightening Policy.
Heat: Approximately 30 minutes prior to the start of the activity, temperature and heat index reading should be taken at the site or from www.weather.com or a comparable source.
