Started in 1975, the Freedom Optimist Soccer Recreational League is sponsored by the Freedom Area Rec Council in cooperation with the Carroll County Department of Recreation and Parks. Based in Eldersburg, MD, Freedom Optimist Soccer (FOS) serves over 1,000 local families by providing a fun and engaging recreational soccer league for youth players starting at the age of 3, and adult players in a separate adult division.
Freedom Optimist Soccer is one of the largest recreational soccer leagues in Maryland hosting both fall and spring soccer seasons. It is run 100% by volunteers including it’s 20+ member Board of Directors. It’s mission is to create a safe and fun environment for Carroll County’s youth to learn and enjoy the game of soccer.
